Uramanat is a stair-stepped area where the roof of every house serves as the yard of the upper house.

The area’s people have special customs and traditions.

The region lies in Kordestan Province and the neighboring province of Kermanshah in western Iran.

The part of Uramanat which lies in Kordestan includes a city named Uraman Takht and 76 villages.

A nomination file of the region was submitted to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to be considered for inclusion in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
